Language preparation course to higher education in Slovakia

University of Central Europe in Skalica NPO (hereinafter "SEVŠ") organizes educational activities and language training preparing foreign student for further studies in Slovakia. The main objective of the course is to provide foreign students with the language skills necessary for successful university study in the Slovak Republic. Students will acquire the ability to communicate in Slovak language and expertise in a selected list of subjects.

Organization of study

The educational program begins with six-week intensive course of Slovak language in the form of 20 hours per week (4 hours daily). Afterwards, the course continues with a 6 weeks teaching period within which the student attends 20 hours of Slovak language per week in addition to 10 hours per week of selected vocational subjects. The whole course covers 240 hours of Slovak language and 60 teaching hours of selected subjects which makes a total of 300 teaching hours. The final exam of the Slovak language is realized in written and oral forms, and its successful completion is accepted as a successful fulfillment of one of the university entrance conditions required by the University of Central Europe in Skalica. Students obtain a final examination certificate that does not fully guarantee admission to the higher education institution, but significantly increases the probability for successful university admission to study in the Slovak Republic if the student meets the other conditions mentioned bellow.

The Harmonogram of the course in the academic year 2014/2015
Deadline for applications:                            15th February 2015
Intensive Slovak language Course:               1st June 2015 – 10th July 2015
Language and Training:                               13th July 2015 – 21st August 2015
Final exam:                                                  24th August 2015 – 28th August 2015

Admission
A properly completed application form must be filled  up and  sent by  the candidate for Language preparation course to higher education in Slovakia in  no later than 15th February 2015 to the address:

Additional documents required for language preparation course:

  1. A photocopy of Maturity examination, eventually any other relevant document of complete secondary education. A photocopy of the document must be duly certified and translated into Slovak or English languages and superlegalized (apostilled) by Slovak embassy in the concerned country.
  2. A photocopy of the passport identification.
  3. Confirmation of payment for the admission procedure at EUR 100.
  4. Medical health certificate/report, not older than 3 months.

These attachments are a mandatory part in the admission procedure. The absence of any of the required data makes the application incomplete. Incomplete application will be returned to the applicant without refund of fees paid for the admission procedure.

Terms and Conditions

Contractual relations between the University of Central Europe in Skalica NPO, and foreign students becomes valid on the bases of a written consent by the student himself expressing his /her approval to the contract`s terms and condition. The consent with attested signature is to be delivered to the address mentioned above, in addition to a proof of payment of the fees of the study as indicated in the acceptance letter. Accommodation, catering, other services

Accommodation and meals are to be secured by the students individually. University of Central Europe in Skalica provides only the teaching of the Slovak language and vocational subjects. Successful applicants may use the services available to the  students  of the university in Kosice as well as other services that school provides (internet, photocopying services, etc.)..
