CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STUDY PROGRAMME
You will gain a broad environmental and managerial overview, as well as a theoretical and methodical base extended through practical experience and knowledge in an interdisciplinary view of solving environmental problems and projects, for the development and implementation of environmental policy and its tools in corporate sphere, in the system of public administration and in the private sector. You will become qualified professionals - environmental managers, project designers, auditors, technical experts for dealing with specific tasks depending on the needs of the social praxis and science, in line with the concept of sustainable development.
GRADUATE PROFILE
As a graduate of the doctoral study field of environmental management you will become an environmental expert and you will be able to perform functions mainly in these areas:
- Functions in organisations and institutions realising environmental policy;
- Functions in public administration;
- Functions in international organisations;
- Positions in various levels of management in the private sphere;
- Functions in organisations ensuring technical infrastructure;
- Consultation and information services;
- Functions when developing and applying educational and training programmes in the area of environmental management;
- Coordination of activities of involved bodies when dealing with problems of the environment on regional and local level;
Realisation of graduates and broader cooperation was consulted with:
- Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic;
- Ministry of Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic;
- Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic;
- Trnava Self-Governing Region;
- Visegrad Fund;
- Legal entities in business, mainly with those that are obliged by law to ensure care for the environment by a qualified staff;
- Professional associations;
- Organisations of individual departments (Association of Industrial Ecology in Slovakia, the Slovak Agency of Environment and others);

** The overall number of hours of work of doctoral students in doctoral studies is 50 hours and is divided into 12 hours in semester in line with mandatory subjects and mandatory electives and 38 hours of doctoral students' work focused on creative activity in the field of science.
When applying for the defence of their dissertation thesis, doctoral students shall be obliged to document by the deadline set by the law a minimum number of 120 credits achieved for study and creative activity.
